I'm trying to dispose of a Hammond HX-100 organ -
See http://www.hammond-organ.com/Museum/hx100.htm for a full description
and pictures (disclaimer: The web site just shows the model, the pictures
aren't of the organ I'm disposing of - it is however identical, but has only
the one tone cabinet).

It hasn't been serviced or used much in recent years. It does however play,
all manuals, drawbars and pedals appear to work. The overall volume output
however is pretty low - as if some of the amplification has gone.

It needs to go because of an impending house move.
This post isn't particularly an attempt to drum up a sale - but to get an
idea from those who know as to whether the thing should be treated as scrap,
or might find a good home with an enthusiast who could love and care for it-
it hasn't been knocked about, and probably just needs a bit of TLC from
someone with the right skills to restore it to its former glory. I'd hate to
have to take the axe to it.
I should add that I'm in the south-east of the UK.

Is it worth advertising on e-Bay do you think?

It is very hard to get any money for any organs other than the 3series A100.
B3. RT3 etc. Organs on Ebay are going outragiously cheap if they sell.

I looked up one organ I had laying over a relative's house for years a
theater organ. I researched it on Ebay and found it sold for only 99
ents - that's right --the only one I found sold for 99 cents!!

You are better off selling it to someone you know.

... well as long as it's 'buyer collects' I might consider that!!

Hi!

Maybe H-100's and HX-100's may have little to no worth in the US. Over
here in Europe I found people that were looking for an H-100 so since
you're in the UK you might find a buyer. Just try a "buyer pickup" thing
at ebay before you dump it. Some weeks ago I saw an M-3 that sold for
over 1000 EUR on Ebay.

best regards Martin
